I have chosen this style because to me it sounds as the most futuristic and promising style. I'm also born in the 80's and i love the graphics art universe as cyberpunk, old 80's ads, old Sci-Fi movie and more.

I'm a bit bitter about the direction the scene has taken. I'm not a big fan of dark-synth, I prefer something more melodic - like Miami Nights, Mitch Murder or Robert Parker. Today, I think, many producers are somewhat stuck with giallo and John Carpenter stuff. I can understand them (after all, the biggest names are more or less dark-synth ones), but I can't stop feeling that if this keeps on going, outrun might end up as the next sea-punk.
As for the innovation, I'm not even sure that it will be a correct word for a scene that identifies as "new retro", aimed at reviving and reinventing sounds. I think, there are many sounds that were somewhat left behind, and there are certainly many talented producers to exploit them - at least this is what I want to believe

We are constantly evolving that process. Pat and I have been working together for about a year and a half now and it's always changing. Typically we sit down and start with an influence track, I'll usually lay down a basic drum beat, Pat then drops some bass onto it, then we go back and forth adding different synths. For this latest album, we've been really focusing on finding the hook of our song, something for the listener to attach to.

This is one of the rare instances where the artist came to me and I said yes, although as the label gets more known, the quality of those artists gets higher. Dynatron came to me a few days before "Aeternus" was released and asked me to release it on vinyl. I had already decided to stop doing vinyl-only releases, so I just straight up told him I couldn't consider it. So, he went through with his release plans, but he dropped me a link to download the album. I've been playing it for months, so sometime during my holiday I dropped him a line and we just talked about upcoming stuff. He sent me links to some stuff he was working on and "Aeternus" was sinking in with me more and more. I like the fact that his music is dark but not EVIL - so he is exploring a very different dimension of the same universe as the other electro guys on the roster. I became very convinced this would be a strong partnership and him too. It wasn't more complicated than that, I got really into his stuff, and I liked chatting with him and where he was going and how it fit within the context of the label.

What's not to love about this resurgence of nostalgia! I really am meeting a ton of kindred spirits I never knew I had. It's pretty amazing actually.

The Atari 2600 has always been in my house. I still own an original heavy sixer. The idea for the spelling came to me when I was brushing my teeth one night :) Just thought it would look kinda cool like that.

As an artist I like to create things constantly, but it doesn't mean that I want them all to be the same, I need all of them to be diferent and in terms of composition to cover more than just one kind of sound there is nothing better than a synthesizer. You can play any instrument you want which is perfect to compose any kid of sound you want.
