AMA with Tommy ’86
I fully agree with Perturbator. Today, there are many artists in this synthwave scene which are stuck in the 80's. They always trying to get something that sounds 80's as much as possible and always use the same clichés: Miami beaches, cars, palm trees, girls, etc. All too often, albums sounds the same! It was never my vision of the 80's and I always tried to make the difference. I'm no longer consider myself as part of this scene. An artist must always evolve his style. If tomorrow, synthwave disappears, I don't want to fall with the scene.
AMA with Volkor X
I've always been fascinated by Sci-Fi, space, and aliens. So when Volkor X came to life, he had to be an alien. The name comes from "Volcor", one the bad guy in a japanese scifi series from the 80s. It was called "San Ku Kaï" aka "Space Ninja" aka "Message from Space: Galactic Wars" and many more aka's I guess :D In the series, Volcor is the commander of the bad guys' army, he's full of hate, and absolutely awesome!
AMA with Gost
It's hard to guess what the next progression will be. Especially in a genre that draws its inspiration from the past. If I had to guess though, I would guess a more EDM approach as the genre gets more popular unfortunately.

Luxury Elite & Saint Pepsi – LATE NIGHT DELIGHT (Remastered)

Vaporwave is one of the most unusual music genres I think I’ve listened to in quite sometime. Inspired by postmodern Japanese culture, technology, pro-consumerism, and retro aesthetics, it’s also focused on sampling and remix culture. Considering it’s also a very easy music genre to become active in, there are hundreds if not thousands of artists […]

The Outrunners – Originals

Ever since 2012, I’ve been listening to synthwave. Whether classics like Anoraak, Fear of Tigers, and Tesla Boy, or even newcomers like Occams Laser, Absinth3, and Zombie Hyperdrive, there’s always something that brings me into their music. It could be anything, their specific aesthetics and vibes of their albums, their outstanding vocal work, or maybe […]
